Born in St Petersburg, Tatiana Amosova trained at the Vaganova Academy (class of Tatiana
Udalenkova) and joined the Kirov Ballet in 1993. She was promoted to soloist in 1997.
Tatiana Amosova readily conveys the image of a bravura ballerina, with dancing that
emphasizes boldness, brilliance and grandeur, if frequently too much at the expense of subtlety and poetry.
Her statuesque, sophisticated, somewhat icy beauty nonetheless makes for an imposing
stage presence.
In the Kirov Ballet, Tatiana Amosova has been preparing her roles
with Olga Chenchikova and Olga Moiseyeva.
Her repertoire includes:
- Myrtha in Giselle
- Gamzatti in La Bayadère
- Shade in La Bayadère
- Lilac Fairy in The Sleeping Beauty
- Queen of the Dryads in Don Quixote
- Clémence in Raymonda
- Medora in Le Corsaire
- title role in The Firebird
- Odette-Odile in Swan Lake
- Zarema in The Fountain of Bakhchisarai
- soloist in Paquita Grand Pas
- the girl in Le jeune homme et la mort (Petit)
- Rubies in Jewels
- Nikiya in La Bayadère
